I spent a day at Gentleman’s Hair Stylists, which has been on Old Lancaster Ave for over 50 years and still maintains its look from when it first opened. It employs about 4 or 5 men to complement the four barber chairs and sinks they have. It was a really cool place. The video is set to “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller.

For my digital story next Monday, I will be doing an audio slideshow of the barber shop where I get my haircut. It’s called Gentleman’s Hair Stylists and it’s on Old Lancaster Ave. The place has been there for a long time (I would say about 50 years or so) and all of the men that work there wear the same blue short-sleeved, button up shirt. There are only four stations in the entire shop and nothing looks like it has been changed since it opened up.

I plan on interviewing one or two of the men that work there to gain some insight on the history of the shop and see how much they like working there. It’s not every day one sees a barber shop that authentic and with that much class. You can even get a pretty decent haircut there too!

I will be taking pictures inside the shop of the guys giving haircuts, having conversation with one another and just going about their daily business. I will also use the natural sounds of the shop in my slideshow (scissors cutting, razors trimming, etc.)
